KUWAIT CITY, Dec 25: Kuwait’s fencers have continued their splendid performance at the Arab Fencing Championship currently held in Kuwait, wining ten diverse medals. Kuwait’s team won the gold medal of the Men’s Epees competition.
The Saudi team got the silver and the UAE and Iraqi teams shared the bronze medal. In the Sabre competition, Kuwait’s team snatched the gold medal and the Iraqi and Syrian teams won the silver and bronze medals respectively.
This takes Kuwait’s tally in the fourth day of the championship up to ten medals six gold, two silver and two bronze, to top the list of the medal winners followed by UAE team with seven medals three silver and four bronze. The Syrian team is ranked third with three diverse medals.
The Arab Championship kicked off Saturday and will conclude on Wednesday. Ten Arab countries; Saudi Arabia, Iraq, UAE, Tunisia, Syria, Lebanon, Qatar, Yemen, Palestinian and Kuwait are partaking in the tournament currently held at the Kuwaiti Fencing Federation. (KUNA)
