‘Kuwait-Cartucho’ eye another race after Spain

Founder and head of the Kuwaiti cycling team “Kuwait-Cartucho” Abdullah Al-Shammari Wednesday revealed that the team had participated in a race in Spain and is preparing to participate in another in the coming few days.

He explained in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the Kuwaiti champion Abdul Hadi Al-Ajmi and a number of his teammates took part in the Brueba Bianfranca Ordiatico Classica race in North Spain on Tuesday.

Al-Shammari said the race is famous and well-known at the level of International Cycling Federation, indicating that it is one of the one-day classic races held in Spain.

He stressed that Kuwait is still in the beginning stages of cycling-sports development and has not yet reached the stage of seeking results, adding that majority of the squad was in China to participate in an international tournament there.

Al-Shammari affirmed that concerted efforts will in the near future contribute to the second phase related to pursuit for positive results.
