Kuwait beat Yemen 2-0 in the first group competition for West Asian youth football

BAGHDAD, Nov 22: The Kuwaiti youth football team beat its Yemeni counterpart 2-0 in the second round of the first group matches in the West Asian Youth Football Championship currently being held in the Iraqi cities of Basra and Erbil.

The Kuwaiti team got an early lead through a penalty kick by Fahd Al Azim in 48th minute of the match, which was held at the Palm trunk stadium in Basra, later the same player scored the second goal in the 79th minute.

The Iraqi team leads the standings of Group A with six points, followed by the Kuwaiti team with three points. All matches of the first group will be held in Basra, while the matches of the second group will be held, which will start on Tuesday in Erbil, which includes Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and the UAE.
