Kuwait Amir overjoyed by citizens return, encourages following quarantine guidelines

KUWAIT, April 19 (KUNA) — His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah expressed on Sunday his extreme joy over the return of Kuwaiti nationals as part of the repatriation plan and encouraged them to follow quarantine guidelines to curb the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.


In a television speech addressing the first wave of repatriation, His Highness Sheikh Sabah congratulated the families of the repatriates on the safe return of their loved ones, affirming that all people of the country were eagerly waiting for them.


His Highness the Amir commended His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah for following directives to hasten the return of Kuwaitis abroad prior to the Holy Month of Ramadan.
He hoped that the repatriation plan would conclude successfully and that the country would overcome the current COVID-19 dilemma.
His Highness the Amir reminded all the people of Kuwait, whether the returnees or those currently in the country, that the coronavirus pandemic had devastated the world, recording infections and deaths, indicating that the state was doing its best to fend off the virus spread.
Kuwait’s measures had garnered admiration from the World Health Organization (WHO), a matter that should push returnees and the people to strictly follow the guidelines set by the Kuwaiti health authorities to safeguard Kuwait from any harm, said His Highness the Amir.
Cooperation, solidarity, and commitment to all guidelines will help us defeat the pandemic and record as minimal damage as possible, affirmed His Highness Sheikh Sabah.
His Highness the Amir reiterated his appreciation to the cabinet, the people of Kuwait, as well as the public and private sector for their efforts to counter the spread of the coronavirus to protect all citizens and expatriates alike
