KUWAIT CITY, March 22: Kuwait Airport customs officials have arrested an Asian expatriate attempting to smuggle 84 narcotic pills by concealing them in his personal luggage. In a separate incident, customs officials also confiscated 79 pieces of hashish from another Asian expatriate, which was concealed among his clothing. Both smugglers were handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
Osama Al-Shami, the Director of the Airports Department, stated that the recent increase in the number of seizures is a result of customs inspectors’ enhanced awareness and their commitment to their duties. He attributed this to the Director General’s guidance and the officials’ participation in numerous training courses that have helped them to improve their work. Al-Shami expressed his gratitude and appreciation for their hard work.
