Killers of Filipino maid to face death – ‘Premeditated murder’

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 29: Attorney General Dirar Al-Asousi decided to remand a citizen and his wife accused of killing their Filipino domestic worker for 21 days in the Central Prison and refer them to the Criminal Court on charges of premeditated murder that warrants a death sentence.

In a report, the Public Prosecution demanded for maximum punishment on the defendants after they were charged with intentional killing by severely beating the victim until she succumbed to her injuries and died.

According to the case file, the Ministry of Interior Operations Room received a report from the Emergency Department officials at Al-Sabah Hospital, during which they reported the arrival of a deceased Filipino maid, and she had traces of bruises in different parts of her body.

After the pathologist examined the body of the Filipino maid, it was confirmed there is a criminal suspicion that led to her death and they also detained the sponsor of the maid, who brought her to the hospital. The sponsor admitted that his wife beat the maid until she lost consciousness, so he took her to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
