KUWAIT CITY, July 25: The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) has completed the list of employees who are entitled for financial rewards in the oil sector – those who are considered frontline employees and worked during the Covid-19 pandemic during lockdown, reports Al-Anba daily quoting reliable oil sources.

The list is expected to be submitted to the concerned government agencies within the next few days to approve the mechanism of disbursement of the money. Sources said each employee is expected to receive between 100 dinars and 7,000 dinars on the basis of the category of workers and the number of days worked, salary scale, the risk factor. The sources added, the oil companies have provided the KPC supporting documents such attendance records, tasks assignment data complete with name, civil ID number and salary monthly drawn, number of days worked, daily bonus and total remuneration payable during what the KPC called ‘business disruption period’ — from beginning of March to May 31, 2020.

The reward is divided into a number of categories such as high-risk category, where the reward is twice the daily wage of the employee multiplied by 2, and the medium-risk the employee’s daily wage multiplied by 1.5. As for the second category, it is determined by 50% basis taken in calculating the financial reward for employees included in the first category, and the third category is determined by 25% of the first category.
