KD 4,000 stolen from Filipinas account

KUWAIT CITY, April 6: Despite warnings issued by the concerned authorities to expatriates and Kuwaitis not to fall prey to those who impersonate bank employees and ask for their bank accounts numbers and pertaining details an unidentified person allegedly stole 4,000 dinars from the account of a Filipino, reports Al-Rai daily.

The suspect allegedly called the woman on her cell phone and informed her that her name was entered for a lucky draw and that she won a cash prize and was able to get her bank details including the four digit number. The Filipina, according to what a security source told the daily, thought it was impossible to rob her money, as long as the ATM card since the suspect succeeded in deceiving her. The victim has filed a complaint with the Jabriya Police Station.
