KUWAIT CITY, Nov 19: Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) affirmed readiness to fully implement Decision No.1868/2019 that determines the employment ratio for non-governmental agencies based on their employment rate and other economic activities under the “Kuwaitization” system, in coordination with the Ministry of Commerce, reports Al-Rai daily.

In this context, Deputy Director General of the National Employment Sector Sultan Al-Sha’alani explained that all parties have agreed to impose an annual fee of KD 300 on the agencies that do not abide by the national employment quota for every extra work permit issued to a non-Kuwaiti employee, pointing out that KD 500 was proposed earlier but it was reduced to KD 300 per worker registered in the companies and institutions.

Meanwhile, debts owed to the government increased to about KD 1.83 billion by the end of October compared to KD 1.44 billion in the previous fiscal year, reports Al-Rai daily. By comparing the two periods, it appears that debts owed to the government increased by 27 percent – KD 389 million – after one year. In addition, these debts increased by 18.2 percent (KD 281.9 million) in the first seven months of the current year.
