KD 3 license fee for building parking sheds – Expats are free to secure this permit

KUWAIT CITY, March 27: Head of the Encroachment Demolition Unit at Farwaniya Municipality Khalid Al-Roudhan disclosed that KD 3 is the fee stipulated for issuance of license for building parking sheds outside the confinement of a building, indicating that expatriates are free to secure this permit from the Engineering Permits Department.

Al-Roudhan explained that the procedures for demolishing violating parking sheds in front of residential, investment residential, commercial and industrial buildings are the same.

There are conditions governing the erection of parking sheds, so failure to abide by those conditions will attract warning from the authority.

This will be followed by demolition, the cost of which will be borne by the owner. Al-Roudhan stressed that Kuwait Municipality Law No. 33/2016 concerning regulation for installing parking sheds, stipulates that an application must be submitted to the concerned department in the respective governorate.

He indicated that the most important of the conditions is that the space should be located at a service road and its poles should be connected to wall of the building, adding that the size and length can differ from one building to another.
