7 years for many in funds scam

KUWAIT CITY, April 28: Three judicial rulings were issued this Sunday on lawsuits that have been on the forefront in the recent months, and perhaps even recent years, says Al-Seyassah. The Criminal Court presided over by Judge Nayef Al-Dhahoum sentenced in absentia the former secretary- general of the so-called “Ummah Party” Dr Hakim Al-Mutairi, to life imprisonment for the leaked recordings of a meeting with the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. The Criminal Court also sentenced MP Marzouq Al-Khalifa, former MP Sultan Al-Lughaissim, and six others to two-year imprisonment with hard labor, and a bail bond of KD 5,000 each to suspend the ruling over the case of “Shammar consultation meetings in the fourth constituency”.
