Jakoor down Famous to win 2nd women’s football tourney – Al-Roudan affirms keenness in supporting all kinds of sports

KUWAIT CITY, June 15, (KUNA): Minister of Trade, Industry and Youth Affairs Khaled Al-Roudan affirmed keenness of the Public Authority for Sports and Ministry of Youth Affairs in supporting all kinds of sports in society, whether recreational or competitive.

In a statement at the finals of the second women’s football tournament in which Jakoor managed to defeat Famous by four goals to nil, Minister Al-Roudan called on the ministries and sports authorities to support the youth in practicing their activities, especially women’s sport.

He expressed appreciation and gratitude for immense efforts exerted to organize women’s football tournament, praising the organizers and sponsors for their dedication in ensuring success of the event for two years in a row.

The match organized by the Public Authority for Sports took place at the playing field adjacent to Sheikh Jaber International Stadium under the auspices of the Department of Sports for All.

In a related development, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Youth Affairs Sheikha Zain Al-Sabah affirmed that the ministry has been investing in the potential of girls in all aspects, particularly sports. She pointed to the ministry’s devotion to develop sports and improve youth potential.
