Ruling withheld against duo in forgery case

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 4: The Court of Appeals overturned the verdict of First Instance Court that had earlier acquitted a citizen and a worker at the Traffic Department, and instead, decided to refrain from issuing a verdict against the first defendant (citizen) who was accused of using his colleague’s identification details to transfer ownership of a motorcycle. The Public Prosecution accused the concerned civil employee (second defendant) at the Traffic Department of forging official document, which allowed the citizen to sign it instead of the plaintiff – in order to complete transfer of the motorcycle’s ownership legally . Representing the plaintiff, Attorney Nasser Al-Basheer argued that his client was surprised to find out that the ownership of his motorbike has been transferred to someone else without his knowledge and approval, prompting him to file the complaint.

Trial on Dec 10: The Public Prosecutor has released without bail the youth identified only as M.A., who was suspected and detained for allegedly belonging to the DAESH or the Islamic State Organization and attempting to assassinate the head of Central Agency for Remedying the Status of Illegal Residents of the so-called bedoun, Saleh Al-Fadallah, reports Al-Anba daily. However, he is expected to stand trial on Dec 10, 2018, and it is up to the judge to send him into continued detention or release him, or refer him to the Criminal Court.

Extradition sought: The Interpol has served a Red Notice – locate and provisionally arrest former MP Abdulhamid Dashti at the request of Kuwait, reports Al-Rai daily. The Interpol said Dashti, according to Kuwait, has escaped from justice and failed to honor verdicts issued by the court against him. Kuwait seeks the extradition of Dashti from the country of his residence, provided the country of his residence has signed an extradition treaty with Kuwait
