Info min urges ‘cooperation’ to combat swarms of locusts

KUWAIT CITY, May 14, (Agencies): Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Mohammad Al- Jabri stressed the need of concerted efforts by the concerned state departments to eradicate the swarms of locusts in Al-Wafra area, south Kuwait. “The different state department need to pool their resources in the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAFR) which leads the efforts in this regard,” he told KUNA on Saturday.

Yesterday, Minister of Jabri visited the farms near the southern borders with Saudi Arabia to inspect the combat against the swarms of locusts in the presence Kuwait farmers union. He noted that he sought to get first-hand knowledge, and speed up the efforts by, and the partnership between, the public and private sectors in the battle against locusts that invaded several countries in the region in the recent weeks.
