KUWAIT CITY, Oct 9: Commenting on a warning issued by the Health Ministry of Qatar on consumption of Indian shrimps fresh or frozen due to bacterial disease, the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition of Kuwait stated that this type of shrimps has been prohibited from importing to Kuwait since 2017, reports Al Jarida.

It was based on the recommendation of the Food Safety committee issued by Ministerial Resolution No 3 in the year 2017 with the exception of frozen shrimps without head and shell except for tail. The authorities confirmed that frozen Indian shrimp with head and tail removed has been tested in a Kuwait laboratory and approved to be fit for human consumption.
