KUWAIT CITY, Oct 30: The Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) has decided to start home delivery of civil ID cards, this feature is an option for those who wish to receive civil id cards for a home delivery fee for KD 2 delivery charge which means upon receipt of the Civil ID at home, the recipient will have to pay KD 7 (KD 5 the charge of the Civil ID).

On a daily basis 10,000 to 13,000 civil id cards are issued through vending machines between 9am to 8 pm. More than 200,000 cards have not been collected over 3 months from the machines in South Surra reports al qabas. PACI is looking out for mechanisms to either destroy or home delivery of these cards. More than 90% of civil id cards lying in  vending machines are of expats who are on Article 18. Non collection of civil id cards has slowed down the process of issuing new cards through vending machines.

Civil id cards need to be collected within a period of 3 months. Due to corona crisis there has been disruption of service for over 4 months. PACI authorities have issued over 1 million civil id cards besides issuing for Kuwaitis, domestic workers, workers in govt sector and children below five years.
