High humidity and heatwave to last until Monday – Temp to rise above 50°C

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 6: Kuwait is witnessing extremely hot weather with humidity exceeding 90 percent specially in the coastal areas on Saturday, a senior meteorologist said. The high humidity and heatwave, resulting from southeastern wind, are expected to last until Monday when wind direction shifts to northwest, Dhrar Al-Ali, director of the observatory stations at the Meteorological Dept., told KUNA. He expected the temperature to rise above 50 Celsius degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday. The temperatures exceeded over 50 Celsius degrees on Friday, Jahra station recorded 52.8 degrees Celsius, followed by Al-Abdali Agricultural 52.3, Al-Sulaibiya 52.1, Al-Sabriya 51.6, Al-Wafra Agricultural and Kuwait International Airport 51.5 degrees Celsius (KUNA)
