Government keen on fighting corruption: Minister Al-Sanea – ‘New law presented to authority’

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 16, (KUNA): The government under guidance of His Highness the Prime minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah is moving forward in the fight against corruption, said Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yaqoub Al-Sanea on Wednesday.

Speaking to journalists on sidelines of the parliamentary session, he explained that a new relevant law had been presented to the Anti-Corruption Authority and the legislations development committee at the Ministry of Justice as well as a number of other government departments.

The Ministry, in coordination with the Legislative and Legal Affairs Commission, has decided to be prudent to spare the Constitutional Court unnecessary criticisms regarding the appeal, to be cross-examined on Sunday. The minister stressed on the government keenness on the Anti-Corruption Authority law, adding that it ensures greater protection and independence for the authority
