KUWAIT CITY, Aug 31: The corona pandemic caused a new problem related to completing the procedures for locally hired expatriate teachers for the 2020- 2021 academic year, because they were unable to obtain a certificate of good conduct — a prerequisite for completion of the contract procedures, reports Al- Qabas daily.

The daily obtained information that Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs and Development Rajaa Bouarki put the matter in the hands of Deputy Minister of Education Faisal Al- Maqsid to determine the proper action — whether to complete contracting procedures or postpone them until conditions return to normal, and the concerned parties were able to complete the required documents.

Bouarki indicated that it is difficult for teachers to travel and obtain a certificate of good conduct from their countries due to the exceptional circumstances in Kuwait. He explained one of the requirements for contracting is a certificate of good conduct from the country of origin certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the concerned embassy.
