Gamblers arrested; foreign booze seized

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 1: Security operatives raided a flat in Salmiya and arrested three Arab nationals and seven Asians for gambling and seized three bottles of imported liquor in their possession. The security directorate received information about gambling activities of the suspects and formed a team of detectives led by Major General Al-Tabakh to arrest them. Armed by search and arrest warrant, the officers raided the flat and caught the suspects red-handed gambling. They were referred to concerned authorities. Meanwhile, an Arab expatriate was arrested in the company of a cross-dresser in front of a building. They were referred to concerned authorities.

Thief caught: An unemployed Kuwaiti citizen in his late 30s specialized in stealing car parts was arrested at a parking lot in Hawalli area. The arrest came upon the instruction and guidance of acting Director of Criminal Security Affairs in Capital governorate Brigadier Mohammad Al-Sharhan. Upon interrogation, the suspect admitted the crime and said he steals car parts and sell to garages in different parts of the country to derive income for sustenance. A security source said a Bahraini national filed a case with officers at Hawalli Police Station when he discovered that parts of his vehicle had been dismantled and stolen from the parking lot. Subsequent to similar complaints, a team of detectives was formed to bring the perpetrator to justice. He was arrested and referred to Public Prosecution.
