Four persons in UK tested positive for coronavirus, treated in hospital

LONDON, Feb 10 (KUNA) — Four persons have tested positive for the new coronavirus in the UK on Monday, raising the number of infected people to eight confirmed cases.

Chief medical officer for England, Professor Chris Witty said in a statement that the patients are isolated in a special wing of Royal Hospital and Saint Thomas hospitals in the capital London.
Health authorities are striving to track any person who may have contacted one of the diagnosed in order to cordon off the infection quickly and prevent its spread, Witty stressed.


The first two confirmed cases in Britain were discovered last week and they are a foreign student studying at the University of Liverpool and his relative, while the third case was discovered last Thursday.
On Sunday a fourth Coronavirus infected person was tested positive and was admitted to hospital.


Earlier on Monday, Chinese authorities announced that the death rate of the “coronavirus” has increased to 909 people, in addition to recording 40,235 confirmed cases of the virus in 31 regions, cities and provinces nationwide.
