Former MP Nasser Al-Duwailah sentenced to 6 months prison with KD 2000 fine for abusing UAE

KUWAIT CITY, July 21 The Court of Appeals has overturned the verdict of the lower court and has sentenced the former MP Nasser Al-Duwailah, to 6 months in prison with hard labor and a KD 2,000 fine for abusing the sisterly country United Arab Emirates (UAE), reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The lower court had earlier found the man innocent and released him. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs had filed a complaint against Al-Duwailah, requesting that the accused be referred to trial and given maximum punishment for abusing the UAE which could damage the diplomatic relations between the GCC member countries.
