KUWAIT CITY, May 26: The series of forgeries committed by the citizens in Kuwait who have sold their names, identity and nationality for a few dinars continue unabated, reports Al-Rai daily.

In a latest incident a retired employee of the Ministry of Defence has falsely attributed the name of a Saudi to his citizenship file to enable him to enjoy all the benefits given to a citizen such as loans and allowances, grants, housing and others, until both men were arrested and produced before the court or law.

The forgery was discovered when the Kuwaiti authorities received a request from the Saudi counterpart to hand over one of its citizens, identified only as M.M., who was wanted in connection with a crime committed inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The fingerprint report attached to the request matched the fingerprints of the ‘Kuwaiti’ who was working at the Interior Ministry under the name A.A. The man was referred for interrogation and at that time he admitted that he is a Saudi citizen and that he got the Kuwaiti nationality fraudulently with the help of a retired Kuwaiti employee of the Ministry of Defense. According to a security source medical tests and samples taken from the Saudi, the Kuwaiti and his wife show no blood relationship.

The same source said investigations showed the naturalized Saudi had agreed with the Kuwaiti to get his name added to the file of the latter and help him get a nationality certificate from the General Department for Nationality and Passports of the Ministry of Interior.

He also managed to get an ID and used it in two transactions to get approval for housing and change of address. The source said the naturalized Saudi also received an accredited certificate from the Department of Special Education showing he holds secondary school certificate attested by the Kuwaiti Cultural Attache in Saudi Arabia on the strength of which he registered with the Civil Service Commission showing him as Kuwaiti citizen contrary to the fact.

The source added, the Saudi also got the rent allowance from the Public Authority for Housing Care according to a request submitted by him, and KD 4,000 loan from the Credit and Savings Bank as a grant and a loan of marriage.

The source indicated according to the Forensic report, it has been proved that the age of the accused is not in harmony either with the Saudi or Kuwaiti documents. The suspects have been handed over to the Public Prosecution
