Five doping cases were detected and suspended

KUWAIT CITY, May 11: Director General of Kuwait Anti-Doping Agency Hana Al-Bati has announced the suspension of five athletes proven to have taken banned doping substances during the 2021-2022 sports season, indicating that the agency tested 83 athletes in different sports according to the international standard for conducting tests and investigations by the World Anti-Doping Agency, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

She revealed the penalties are as follows: four-year suspension for Kuwait Club’s basketball player Abdullah Al-Shammari for taking a substance under the anabolic androgenic steroids category; two-year suspension  for Jahra Club’s volleyball player Abdullah Al-Assaf for taking a substance under the  stimulants category; three-month suspension for basketball player at Al-Sahel Club Khalaf Ali and basketball player at Arab Club Hussein Faisal and six-month suspension for  volleyball player at Arab Club Abdel Wahab Talib for consuming a substance under the cannabinoids category.
