KUWAIT CITY, May 12: Charge d’Affaires of the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait Mohammad Nordin Lomondot unveiled that the number of Filipina workers in the shelter affiliated to the embassy has remarkably decreased in the last few months due to the improvement of their transactions and bilateral relations after the last crisis, reports Al-Rai daily.

Speaking to the daily, Lomondot revealed the embassy’s shelter currently provides care for 173 workers; compared to 1,000 in previous months. He praised the action taken by the Kuwaiti government and the speedy process in deporting those who violated the laws to return to their families as soon as possible.

He attributed the reduction in the number of Filipina domestic workers who are absconding daily to one or two compared to the previous years to the improvement of employment status.
