WASHINGTON, Oct 28: Social media giant Facebook, which owns several apps including Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, will change its brand name to Meta, CEO Mark Zuckerburg said on Thursday. The rebranding is part of a strategic shift to emphasize the development of the company’s virtual world, Zuckerburg told a press conference at its annual event, Connect. The new name, which will not affect the Facebook social network app, reflects a focus on “building the metaverse,” he went on to explain. (KUNA)
