KUWAIT CITY, Oct 11: Assistant Undersecretary for Financial Affairs at Ministry of Education Yousef Al-Najjar revealed that the housing allowance of expatriate teachers for the month of October will be KD 150, as Ministry of Education has not yet received an official letter in this regard from the Civil Service Commission, reports Al-Anba daily.

He affirmed that the ministry will immediately implement the decision as soon as it receives an official notification from CSC about it.

Meanwhile, informed sources said the decision to reduce the housing allowance of expatriate teachers does not include reducing KD 90 from the salaries of female teachers for the period between April and September 2016. It is worth mentioning that the Cassation Court issued a verdict to impose provision of housing allowance for female expatriate teachers

RegisterFurthermore, educational sources said instructions were given to all educational zones to not register the names of students who will be absent on Wednesday, Oct 12 on the occasion of the tenth day of Muharram for celebration of the Shiite event ‘Ashoura’. They affirmed that students who do not attend school that day based on acceptable justifi cations will be excused.

Meanwhile, the Financial Sector in the Education Ministry has no intention to restructure the pay scale of employees in its general diwan, educational districts and schools, as well as to determine savings in some job slots according to the rationalization policy of the government, reports Al- Rai daily quoting a source from the educational sector.

The source asserted these are nothing but rumors, urging those spreading baseless information to stop what they are doing as they cause anxiety to the Kuwaiti and expatriate employees not to mention the negative impact on the educational process.

On the other hand, Assistant Undersecretary for Financial Affairs Yousif Al-Najaar disclosed the total salaries paid to non- Kuwaitis working in the ministry reached almost KD 14 million within two years — KD 5.931 million for fi scal 2010/2011 and KD 7.484 million for fi scal 2011/2012.
