Expat jumps from 3rd floor; Ancient Holy Quran stolen

KUWAIT CITY, March 28: An Arab expatriate sustained fractures when he jumped from his fl at on the third floor of a building in Hawally area when fire broke out in the flat. According to sources, when the Control Room of Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) received information about a flat on fire, firefighters, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location and discovered that the fire broke out in a flat and spread to two other flats on the third floor of the building.

Two individuals who were trapped inside the flats were rescued. They had suffered from smoke inhalation and were referred with an Arab expatriate, who had jumped from his fl at when the fire broke out and had sustained fractures, to the nearest hospital for treatment. After extinguishing the fire, firefighters launched investigations to determine the cause of the fire.

‘Holy Book’ stolen: Police are looking for an unidentified thief for stealing an ancient Holy Quran Book — the manuscript handwritten in Turkey — from the car of a Kuwaiti man, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily quoting security sources said the Book went missing when the car was parked in the parking lot of a cooperative society. The Kuwaiti wanted to gift it to his elderly father. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit
