Egyptian stabs, kills wife; B’deshi dies in Jleeb fight – Foul play seen as Kuwaiti man, niece die in fire

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 1: An Egyptian man employed as a veterinary officer at Kuwait Zoo stabbed his Lebanese wife to death in Hawalli area.

The panic-stricken man was spotted at the corridor of the building with the murder weapon and Holy Qu’ran in another hand. He chased and threatened to kill security operatives deployed to the scene before they managed to subdue him.

Initial investigation revealed the woman was stabbed 7 times by the husband in hysteria. Prior to that, the man is said to have stormed the flat and upturned the furniture. His three sons ran to the neighboring flat for safety while the wife was trying to calm him down, and he stabbed her 7 times to her death.

The man later admitted murdering his wife due to former dispute, and measures have since been taken to refer him to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.

B’deshi killed: A Bangladeshi expatriate died and his compatriot was seriously injured in a bloody fight that happened on the rooftop of a building in Hassawi area.

A security source said 8 other Bangladeshis have been arrested in connection with the incident.

The Operations Room of the Interior Ministry was notified about a fierce fight between some Bangladeshis in Hassawi area and a team of rescue men was dispatched to the scene to maintain order. Upon arrival, the lifeless body of the victim was found alongside the critically injured compatriot. The injured person was referred to the Intensive Care Unit of Farwaniya Hospital and the remains of the victim were deposited to Forensics. A case was registered for investigation.

Two die in fire: A Kuwaiti man and his 11-month old niece died when fire engulfed a house in Sabah Al-Ahmad area, reports Al-Rai daily. The infant and her uncle died of asphyxiation after inhaling thick fumes.

It is believed that the fire was deliberately lit due to presence of an inflammable substance at the site. In addition, traces of blood were also found in this house as well as inside the citizen’s car. Intensive investigations are ongoing in this regard.

Woman hurts salesman: Police are looking for an unknown woman in her 40s who broke the arm of a salesman of a shop that sells gowns inside a commercial complex in Nugra area, reports Al-Shahed daily.

According to sources, the woman wanted to return a gown that she had bought but the salesman refused to give her a refund. She then became infuriated and started hitting him with a broomstick that was in the shop, thereby fracturing his arm.

The victim submitted a medical report to substantiate his claim and provided police with the number plate of the suspect’s vehicle.

Drug overdose: A young Kuwaiti citizen was rushed to Adan Hospital and admitted in the Intensive Care Unit in a critical state due to drug overdose, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to security sources, two Arab expatriates called the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior to report that they saw three young men dragging a youth and dumping him in an open yard in Fintas area before driving off in a 4WD vehicle.

Securitymen and paramedics hurried to the location and found the youth in a critical condition. They referred him to Adan Hospital where examination revealed that his bad health state was due to drug overdose.
