KUWAIT CITY, June 17: Police have arrested two Egyptian security guards – one of them working as a security guard for the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) and another unidentified person for selling Civil IDs of Kuwaitis, reports Al-Anba daily.

A security source said the Criminal Investigations Department received information that an Egyptian security working for PACI was selling Civil IDs for KD 200 each and those who purchased these IDs used these documents to purchase electrical appliances and various other items in installments because on most occasions the employee failed to minutely check the identity of the holder due to rush of people.

The daily added when a police agent was sent to the Egyptian to buy a passport, he happened to be living in the same village in Egypt and was able to extract all information and also gave the agent names of the two partners. The three men have been referred to the authorities.
