KUWAIT CITY, Oct 16: Police, in cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, have arrested an Egyptian Muezzin for practicing sorcery and victimizing women, reports Al-Rai daily.A security source police officers acting on a tip-off that an unidentified unmarried Egyptian was swindling Kuwaitis and residents by claiming he has special powers to cure illnesses and cast away evil spirits, set a trap for him and caught him redhanded while ‘treating’ a female police agent of her illness.During interrogation police discovered the muezzin was charging between KD 200 to KD 300, in addition to committing immoral acts with his ‘weak’ female victims. The suspect was caught inside his home. Police have seized from the man sorcery tools, witchcraft books and a notebook containing telephone numbers of his victims, including wellknown personalities. He has been referred to the Criminal Investigations Department
