Egyptian ministry follows case of worker who died

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 9: The Egyptian Ministry of Manpower, in coordination with the Office of Workers Representation at the Embassy in Kuwait, is following up the case of the Egyptian worker who is identified as Tariq Saad Rashid, who, a few days ago, allegedly fell from the tenth floor of a building in Mahboula and died, to escape arrest because he did not have a valid residence permit, reports Al-Rai daily.

While the Egyptian Minister of Manpower, Muhammad Sa’afan, praised the cooperation of the concerned Kuwaiti authorities in any issues or situations related to the Egyptian labor in Kuwait said: “This is the nature of the historical relations between the two countries, in addition to the continuous consultation between Cairo and Kuwait.”

Spokesman of the Ministry of Manpower in Egypt, Haitham Saad El-Din, said “Minister Sa’afan has issued instructions to the labor advisor in Kuwait, Ahmed Youssef, to follow up the issue in terms of compensation and other dues of the Egyptian worker, and to follow up the arrival of the remains of the victim to Egypt in cooperation with the Egyptian consulate in Kuwait.”
