Egyptian Embassy denies universities issued fake degrees to Kuwaitis

Authorities in Cairo ready to probe cases if there is evidence

KUWAIT CITY, July 29: The Egyptian Embassy in Kuwait has denied that universities in Egypt issued fake bachelors certificates (BA) or post-graduate degrees to Kuwaiti students, reports gdnonline. com. Some individuals were implicated in issuing the fake degrees which have no reference in the archives of the universities, said the Egyptian Embassy in Kuwait.

In an official statement issued today, the embassy stressed Egypts keenness on following up the developments of the fake university degrees. The authorities in Cairo are fully ready to investigate any suspected cases if there is evidence that there are people involved in falsifying the degrees inside Egypt, said the statement.

The Kuwaiti cultural office in Cairo is coordinating with the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and officials of universities accredited by the Kuwaiti authorities to solve any problems facing Kuwaiti students in Egypt.

The embassy urged the media to observe accuracy in dealing with the issue of fake degrees, which concerns people who were not registered at any Egyptian university. The statement stressed the need to wait for results of the investigation being conducted by the Public Prosecution into the suspected cases of fake academic degrees.
