Drug pills with Kuwaiti man – Parcel seized

KUWAIT CITY, March 10: A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested in Jahra area in possession of narcotic pills and drug paraphernalia. According to security sources, Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information from some people about a man driving in an unsteady manner in Jahra area. Jahra securitymen who were patrolling the area were immediately dispatched to the location where they caught the man and checked his details to discover he is a Kuwaiti citizen.

They checked his vehicle and found a lamp that is used for consuming certain drugs, as well as four narcotic pills. He was arrested and referred with the confiscated items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.

Meanwhile, Customs officers at Hiteen Post Office discovered a parcel of drugs that was sent from an Asian country. Head of the post office Sameer Al-Zayer explained that the drugs were detected using an inspection device that works on advanced technology. This device is used in all border checkpoints to detect drugs and explosives.

The parcel was opened in line with the customs law, and the presence of the drugs was confirmed. It was then referred to the concerned authorities. Al-Zayer expressed appreciation for the General Customs Administration for providing Hiteen Post Office and other centers with advanced equipment. He also appreciated customs officers in Hiteen Post Office for their efforts to hamper attempts to smuggle drugs into the country.
