KUWAIT CITY, Nov 22: In a first-of-its-kind ruling, a Traffic Court judge ordered the detention of four reckless motorists for one week inside the General Traffic Department’s detention cells for performing stunts with their vehicles on public roads in the rain, reports Aljarida daily.

According to informed security sources, traffic patrol officers caught them a few days ago performing stunts with their vehicles on the public roads while it was raining. They were referred to the traffic court to prosecute them for the violations they committed. The Traffic Violations Investigation Department prepared notes of the violations committed by the four suspects and referred them to the Traffic Court via the Traffic Violations Prosecution Department.

The sources affirmed that the response of the Traffic Court Judge was firm, ordering their detention in the traffic cells and then their referral to the court to issue appropriate judicial rulings. They insisted that the judge’s decision refl ects the court’s keenness to completely eliminate all kinds of recklessness committed by the suspects who endanger the lives of other road users.
