Cabinet extends CSRSIR for three more years

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 24: The academic community relies much on the new Minister of Education and the Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Hamed Al-Azmi to take up the issue of the socalled fake certificates side by side looking into other important pending files, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Tackling the issue of fake academic certificates has become a popular demand before a big catastrophe hits the society. It is seen that Al-Azmi is paying more attention to this issue to solve it as soon as possible. This was evidenced by his meeting with members of the committee to examine the certificates of professors at the Kuwaiti University who were not sent on scholarships and agreed to the extension of work of the Committee provided that it will submit its report within 3 months.

Questions are asked about the file of the fake certificates at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) especially after eight professors were referred to the Public Prosecution sometime ago and investigators found they were carrying fake certificates. Questions are also asked if the exercise of examining the fake certificates will continue especially since the former Minister of Higher Education Dr Badr Al-Issa, had talked about the existence of about 400 fake certificates at the PAAET.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet has issued decree No. 256/2017 for extending the work of the Central System for Remedying the Status of Illegal Residents for three more years based on a proposal of His Highness the Prime Minister, reports Al-Shahed daily. Meanwhile, the Cabinet also issued decree No. 257/2017 to renew the appointment of Lieutenant General Najeeb Al-Othman as Deputy Secretary General in CSRSIR for four more years under the grade of assistant undersecretary. The two decrees have been published in the official gazette, which means they have come into effect and must be implemented by all ministries.
