KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25: Article 17 passports are given to Bedoun residents based on the temperament of some officials, and many of these residents who are entitled to receive passports are not considered, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting informed sources.

They explained that the applications of many Bedoun residents for receiving Article 17 passports were rejected under the pretext of the presence of security bond, but passports are given to those who actually have security bonds registered against them.

The applications are received randomly. Visitors have bad experience at the office in terms of standing in long queues and waiting for a long time, all of which in turn negatively affect the good reputation of the Ministry of Interior.

The sources indicated that the General Department for Citizenship and Passport Affairs are not activating the online system for submitting applications even though the requirements are all available.
