KUWAIT CITY, Sept 6: The General Administration of Civil Aviation announced that Tuesday, has been set as the date for operating and resuming commercial flights between Kuwait and India. The observer of the Air Transport Department at (Civil Aviation), Raed Al-Taher, said in a press statement today, that flights will resume at five flights per day according to the number of seats that have been determined between the two countries, which is in line with the Kuwaiti Cabinet’s recent decision to increase the capacity of Kuwait International Airport.

Al-Taher explained that the first of these flights will arrive at 6 am, stressing the need to adhere to the health requirements for entering Kuwait, which were set by the health authorities in order to avoid any obstacles or reasons for preventing those coming to Kuwait from entering and returning them to their countries of origin.

The Cabinet held its weekly meeting this afternoon at Seif Palace under the chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister. After the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah stated the following: At the outset of its work, the Cabinet reviewed the contents of the meeting held by His Highness the Prime Minister in the presence of a number of ministers and leaders in government agencies last Thursday at Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center under the title (Kuwait Beyond the Pandemic), where His Highness reviewed the government’s efforts during the Corona pandemic in addition to His Highness explaining the government’s plan and work program, the major development and entertainment projects being implemented, the future vision of the projects to be implemented, as well as the responsibilities and tasks assigned to the state’s leaders in the next stage.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah expressed, on his own behalf and on behalf of his sister and brothers, the ministers, their deep thanks and appreciation for the initiative of His Highness the Prime Minister to meet and communicate with his fellow leaders in government agencies, which came within the framework of His Highness the Prime Minister’s keenness to provide advice and directions the advice characterized by frankness and firmness, highlighting the deficiencies and ways to address them, and working hard to follow up and implement the government’s work program and develop government services to achieve aspirations of citizens in order to advance development and achieve the desired goal through the desired reform. Then the Cabinet listened to an explanation given by the Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basil Hammoud Al-Sabah on the latest developments related to the health situation in the country, based on the latest statistics that show the continued decline in the number of daily infections to reach 0.6 percent and the recovery rate to reach 98.9 percent, praise be to God. In light of which, a number of Covid wards were closed in hospitals. In this regard, the Cabinet expressed its reassurance about the continuation of the positive health indicators that the country is witnessing, noting that the improvement in the epidemiological situation with the Corona pandemic in the State of Kuwait requires the continuation of everyone’s cooperation and work as a team to preserve the positive indicators that have been reached and not to be lenient in the application of health requirements to prevent the spread of any strains A new mutated, until this epidemic is besieged and eliminated.

On the other hand, the Cabinet was informed of the recommendation of the Public Services Committee regarding the results of the two coordination meetings between the Minister of Public Works and the Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Affairs and leaders of each of the following government agencies (Ministry of Interior – Ministry of Finance – Ministry of Public Works – Kuwait Municipality – Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport) regarding determining the appropriate future destination for the uses of the Derwazat Al-Abdul Razzaq Tunnel and the surrounding area, and the results and recommendations that resulted from it. The Council of Ministers decided to assign the Ministry of Public Works, in coordination with Kuwait University and the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, to study (the construction condition of the Derwazat Al-Abdul Razzaq Tunnel and to indicate the extent to which the intersection can be reopened for vehicles urgently and safely – an indication of the faults in the Derwazat Al-Abdul Razzaq Tunnel and to take measures to radically repair it) and provide the Council of Ministers with the outcome of the matter within a month from its date.

He also decided to assign the Kuwait Municipality to coordinate with the Ministry of Finance to expedite the receipt of Derwazat Al-Abdul Razzaq Tunnel and to secure the necessary financial funds to move forward with the measures to be taken to address the existing conditions in the Derwazat Al-Abdul Razzaq Tunnel and the area around it in a radical way. Then the Council of Ministers reviewed the committee’s recommendation regarding the establishment of recreational activities in the agricultural areas of Al-Wafra and Abdali, and the Council of Ministers decided to assign the Public Authority for Agriculture and Fisheries Affairs in coordination with the (Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Kuwait Municipality, the National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, the Tourism Projects Company and the entities that It deems appropriate) to develop appropriate scenarios regarding allowing the establishment of some recreational activities in the agricultural areas of Al-Wafra and Abdali, and examine the possibility of involving the private sector and public benefit associations to contribute to achieving the desired goals in this regard, and to contribute to providing an attractive environment for the visitors of the two mentioned areas, and to provide the Council of Ministers with the outcome of the matter, during two weeks from its date.

The Cabinet also discussed the committee’s recommendation regarding the proposal to establish a unified government communication unit (Wasel), and the Cabinet decided to approve the proposal of the Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Affairs regarding the establishment of a unified government communication unit (Wasel), which will contribute to unifying and coordinating the efforts of government communication service centers Upgrading the services provided to all citizens and residents and assigning the minister to coordinate with the relevant authorities to take all appropriate measures to ensure the speedy realization of the proposal. The Council of Ministers discussed the affairs of the National Assembly and reviewed in this regard the letter of His Excellency the Speaker of the National Assembly to which the interpellation submitted on 1/9/2021 from Member Fayez Ghannam Al Jamhour to the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, which will be included on the agenda of the first session in pursuant to the provisions of Article (135) of the bylaws of the National Assembly, and he reviewed the axes mentioned in the questioning paper. The Council of Ministers affirmed that interpellation is a constitutional right for a member of the National Assembly. It also affirmed its confidence in the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, and dealing with interrogation in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, the National Assembly’s internal regulations, and the provisions of the Constitutional Court in this regard. The Cabinet commended the athletes Ahmed Naga Al-Mutairi for winning the silver medal in the 100-meter run, and the hero Faisal Sorour for the bronze medal in the men’s shot put competition at the 2020 Paralympic Games currently being held in Tokyo.
