SciNet prepares to sign pact with NPF

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 20: The Ministry of Communications (MoC) has called on subscribers to pay their bills to avoid the disconnection of the landline telephone service, as of March 13, reports Al-Jarida daily. The ministry indicated that those who have defaulted should take the initiative to pay their dues directly through the ministry’s website www.moc. gov.kw or by visiting any of the ministry’s departments.

The ministry also called on those who occupy space inside and outside the ministry’s buildings as well as subscribers to the “Leased line, NGN, ISDN, 800, E1, antenna, fiber, triple and band” services to take the initiative to pay the financial dues to the ministry, no later than March 13, 2022. The payment can be done to the Financial Affairs Department, Commercial Accounts sector in Shuwaikh, Ministry Building No. 3 on the third floor during official working hours in order to avoid stopping the services and avoid legal measures being taken against defaulters.

The Ministry of Communications clarified that in the event of nonpayment by the customer of the amounts owed by him, the ministry will take the necessary legal measures to collect its financial dues.

Meanwhile, ‘SciNet’, the credit information company is preparing to sign an agreement with the National Projects Fund (NPF) to establish a credit under the agreement, and a new data field to be included in the field of the commercial portfolio of companies and institutions available on the network, reports Al-Rai daily. The prospective agreement, according to sources, gives credit policy makers the ability to view the credit initiators’ data, and then assess the creditworthiness of the initiator, within a comprehensive vision, enhanced by more specific data on the credit position of his company.

The sources explained as a result of this link, the credit data of all the initiators who borrowed from the fund will be available on the “SciNet” network, and thus the banks will be able to reveal the true credit position of the initiator, if he decides to request a commercial loan from any bank in the future, which means that the defaulting initiator will be deprived of obtaining a commercial loan to his companies unless he amends his conditions. On the other hand, the sources indicated that the agreement will allow the officials of the fund to view the credit information of the companies’ portfolio listed on SciNet, which will help them in making a more accurate credit decision with each initiator applying for financing, taking into account his credit history, and this also means that those who do not regularly pay their installments with a commercial bank will be prevented from obtaining financing from the fund, and this leads to the creation of a black list of defaulting initiators, whether with the financing agencies or the National Fund.
