KUWAIT CITY, Aug 19: Personnel from the Sulaibikhat Criminal Investigations Department has closed the file of the person who was wanted by law for shooting at securitymen and passersby in Garnatha after police found the weapon used in the crime inside the house of the friend of the accused in Jahra who tried to mislead the securitymen by claiming he did not possess a firearm, reports Al- Anba daily.
It is noteworthy to mention the main suspect in the shooting case helped the detectives to solve four cases of thefts and also found sachets of shabu. The Kuwaiti who is accused of sheltering the suspect and concealing the firearm has admitted to committing four cases of theft and led police to the hideout where the weapon and drugs were hidden.
The main suspect in the case has been referred to the security authorities on charges of possession of a firearm without a license, attempted murder and resisting arrest. His accomplice has been charged with sheltering a criminal, hiding a weapon used in the crime and committing four thefts, and possessing narcotics. The suspects have been referred to the Central Prison pending investigations.
The source added over the past few days police have been interrogating the accused several times and finally managed to identify his partner who had been recently released from prison who in the course of interrogations admitted that he had hidden the Kalashnikov rifl e in the home of his partner in Jahra.
