COVID vaccination open for children aged 5-11

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 30: Registration for COVID- 19 vaccination will open for children age 5-11, announced the Ministry of Health on Saturday. A statement by the ministry indicated that a plan would be set in motion to streamline vaccinations for the targeted age group. After registering online, legal guardians of the children will receive a text message on the date, time and place of vaccination, the statement concluded.

The Wafra and Abdali medical centers will receive Kuwaitis and residents on Sunday and Monday from 09:00 am to 7:00 pm localtime for the COVID-19 vaccination, said a health official, Saturday. Speaking to KUNA head of Director of the Central Administration for Primary Health Care, and Head of the Mobile Immunization Units team at the ministry, Dr. Dina Al-Dhubaib revealed that the center would receive those willing to take the first jab or completing their immunization with a second dose.

The process will only be on the specified dates, she stressed. The Wafra and Abdali centers are situated south and north of the country and serves those in far areas mainly. The number of coronavirus infections went up to 412,653 with the addition of 12 cases in the last 24 hours, while deaths stood still at 2,461, the Ministry of Health said Saturday. Speaking to KUNA, the ministry’s spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad indicated that recoveries reached 409,826 with 34 new cases. Those receiving treatment at COVID wards were at 14, revealed Al-Sanad, noting that 366 people were receiving treatment for the viral infection. There are six cases in ICU. (KUNA)
