KUWAIT CITY, Feb 18: The Court of Appeals overturned a verdict issued by a lower court which sentenced a fashionista and her husband to two-year imprisonment and fined them KD 2,000 as well as the deportation of the husband after serving the term.

The court instead fined them KD 5,000 on charges of posting an indecent video clip on SnapChat application. The Public Prosecution charged the defendants with misuse of mobile phones by publishing a video clip, which contained indecent images and words and is against the public decorum and morals, on SnapChat.

Defending the fashionista was Lawyer Ali Jawhar, who demanded the annulment of the ruling and the deportation of her husband, stressing that when referring to the case documents, it was evident that they did not commit a criminal activity by publishing the clip.
