KUWAIT CITY, Sept 19: The Criminal Court headed by Counselor Abdullah Al-Othman in its first session has postponed looking into the case of Bangladeshi resident, who is also known as ‘Pablo’ and is a Member of Parliament in Bangladesh and allegedly owns a cleaning company in partnership with a Kuwaiti, to Oct 1, 2020 to hear the testimony of arresting officers, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

During the last session the judge refused the defence team requests to release the suspects on any guarantee but ordered the continued detention of Pablo and two MPs. The court also decided detention of 3 Bangladeshi suspects, who were previously released from the Public Prosecution Office. During the session, the defendants denied the accusations slapped against them of money laundering and accepting bribe.

The Bangladeshi also denied knowing the two MPs (identified only as S.K and S.H.) who are suspects in the case. He said he does not have any relationship with the two parliamentarians and the same goes with Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah. The Public Prosecution has charged the defendants with human trafficking, fraud, bribery, abuse of power and money laundering. The daily added, the MPs were not present in court and also the three others who have been released on bail. The judge ordered has ordered their imprisonment bringing the number of detainees in the Bangladeshi case to five.
