KUWAIT CITY, July 1 : The Court of Appeals overturned the verdict of the lower court and set free a Kuwaiti man.

The lower court had found the defendant guilty of damaging the car of another Kuwaiti, making vulgar signs with his fingers and threatening to kill and was sentenced to six months in prison with hard labor and was fined 75 dinars.

The defense attorney Abdullah Matar told the court the plaintiff’s charges that he was insulted, slandered and damaging the vehicle had no basis. He also told the court from the beginning the defendant had denied the accusations. He had also told the court that he is innocent and maintained that he was framed by the plaintiff and moreover, the charges filed against him were not supported by any evidence and questioned the validity of the accusations.
