Court acquits poet of spreading rumors

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 10: The Criminal Court, chaired by Judge Muhammad Al-Sanea, acquitted poet Jamal Al-Sayer in a case filed by the Public Prosecution which accused him of spreading false information about the internal affairs of the country, says Al- Seyassah.

In response to the complaint submitted by the Interior Ministry, the prosecution charged Al-Sayer with spreading false and malicious rumors about the country’s internal conditions through his posts on his Twitter and other social media accounts. The prosecution argued such action tarnished the image of Kuwait in the international community.
