KUWAIT CITY, Oct 12: A meeting of top security officials was held in the presence of Deputy Premier, the Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al- Khalid Al-Sabah to discuss the traffic plan, security procedures, and other preparations to safeguard Hosainiyas and their surrounding areas on the advent of Muharram and Ashoura Day, says an Interior Ministry press release.

Sheikh Mohammad extended appreciation to the owners of Hosainiyas for their total cooperation with state’s security authorities and understanding of the nature of security procedures to which they agreed that gatherings outside the Hosainiyas and security violations will not be tolerated.

He confirmed that owners of Hosainiyas agreed that all rites should be conducted indoors to guarantee sanctity of the occasion and the safety of citizens and expatriates. He stressed that violation of public norms, laws, and discipline will not be condoned. He also issued directives to facilitate traffic flow by meeting all circumstances that may lead to traffic jam with strict application of law and facing people with a smile.

For his part, Ministry Undersecretary Lieutenant General Suleiman Fahd Al- Fahd presented the traffic plan for the month of Al- Muharram and demonstrated the mechanism of securing Hosainiyas, indicating high security presence will be observed all over the country. The assistant undersecretaries gave elaborate explanation of executive security plans to safeguard the period of rituals throughout the month of Al-Muharram.
