‘Cleaning campaigns in Farwaniya to continue’ – ‘Call 139 for complaints’

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22: Kuwait Municipality’s Public Relations Department affirmed the continuation of cleaning campaigns in all areas of Farwaniya Governorate in line with the campaign titled “Keep It Clean” held with the support of Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, and State Minister for Municipal Affairs Fahad Al Shuala and under the direct supervision of Director General of Kuwait Municipality Ahmad Al Manfouhi, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Acting Director of General Department for Public Hygiene and Road Usage and Director of Inspection Department in Farwaniya Governorate Saad Al-Khurainij declared that all centers affiliated to the governorate will continue with their cleaning campaigns after signing new contracts under new conditions to achieve high standard of cleanliness.

He affirmed that, besides conducting such campaigns, they will also deal with complaints received by Kuwait Municipality via its social media account “@ kuwmun” or its hotline No 139. Al-Khurainij said the campaigns launched in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Hasawi areas resulted in the issuance of 392 citations against violations related to cleanliness and road usage, and violations of law No. 9/87, as well as confiscation of 870 cubic meters of rotten vegetables and fruits and used cloths and removal of 111,070 cubic meters of waste materials.

He added that the inspectors from Inspection and Followu p Department closed down 120 shops and issued 200 citations against the violation of installing billboards in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Hasawi areas prior to receiving the licenses.
