Chaos at Kuwait Towers – Roof and restaurant damaged

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 5: The roof of the Kuwait Towers restaurant was damaged when water pipes burst, which caused damage to the roof and the restaurant setting, reports Al-Rai daily.

As a precautionary measure the staff was evacuated through the emergency staircase as the water also seeped into the elevators. Acting on information firemen and other concerned personnel rushed to the spot and fixed the faults. The explosion in the pipes caused a partial damage to the ceiling and also damaged the elevators.

According to an informed source, the preliminary inspection shows the pipes could not withstand the pressure of water for unknown reason. The cause is being investigated. The incident happened at about 10:30 am
