Campaign against eateries, food stores continues

KUWAIT CITY, June 11: The Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality announced continuation of its campaign titled “Your Health is Trust” in some shops, restaurants, kitchens and warehouses where food items are stored prior to circulation in public before and during Ramadan, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

To this end, food monitoring officials affiliated to the Department of Supervision and Follow-up of Municipality Services at Hawalli Municipality carried out a campaign in Salmiya area during which they issued 20 citations.

The officials inspected cooperative societies and the storage facilities for food items. Similarly, Head of the Emergency Team at Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipality Nasser Al-Hajri disclosed that the team embarked on inspection tours which resulted in demolition of some billboards, and detection of violations in some shops, restaurants. He explained that the officials operated on three different shifts in Abu Al-Hassaniya and Funaitees.

They issued three citations, closed down a shop for failure to renew license, removed 186 billboards and demolished three gardens that encroached public property. In addition, ten buildings were found to have violated electricity connection and specification certificate laws, and the officials also issued nine warnings against the violation of encroaching state property.
