KUWAIT CITY, Dec 15: SalamAir in Kuwait held its first Cricket Tournament for travel agency staff, in a format never seen or played before in Kuwait, with 16 Teams participating from various regions of Kuwait. The event was organized by Faisal Khan, the newly appointed Country Manager who recently arrived in Kuwait from Qatar and is in charge of the airline business in Kuwait. “Being new to the country, I wanted to find a popular sport to connect with the entire travel trade and to see how we could optimize on this as an airline because travel agencies are our lifeline and we address them as our trade partners. We are very lucky to have QGo as our GSA partners in Kuwait and they have been very helpful in driving this event for us,” he explained.

Since cricket is a very popular sport in Asian countries and there hasn’t been a similar cricket tournament played in the last two decades in Kuwait, I believed this is where we would strike a chord with our trading partners, and we were quite successful.” The tournament in Jleeb played on Nov 25 saw SalamAir’s top management as well as the top travel agents in Kuwait come in with their families and friends to witness the tournament, which was really amazing. The final match featured Al Waseet Travel versus Caesars Travel, with the latter emerging victorious.
